Multicam edit-while-ingest with MovieRecorder and Final Cut Pro X

Apple has released today an update to Final Cut Pro X (10.0.3) adding a lot of new features and improving others.

We will not write a complete review of all the changes (you can read more here), but rather point out a few nice things for MovieRecorder users.

Automatic Relink
Previous versions of Final Cut Pro X did not allow the file to be modified once it was used in an event or project. With FCP X 10.0.3, there is an automatic or manual relink possible. This now allows you to use the Update Movie duration when stopping” feature in MovieRecorder. Read more here...

Multicam
With Final Cut Pro X you can now edit multicam clips with an unprecedented ease of use. And you can still do edit-while-ingest with multicam clips. This means that you could have one Mac Pro with MovieRecorder QUAD recording 4 streams of HD signal, and edit these clips in multicam from another workstation while it is being recorded. General Stability and performance improvements
Added support for EPG - Electronic Program Guide. Add types of programs, summary, rating, etc… and export to XML (currently only compatible with Australian format. IF you are interested, let us know and we’ll add the support for your country when you order)
Start time is now updated to reflect the real start time of the clip, and not the planned start time. Useful when you are running late or early because of offline clips for example.
Added Attributes icons in Media Browser
Added a “Randomize” playlist feature
Added a “Search” feature in media browser.
