What's new in OnTheAir CG Designer

• User Interface: Added the ability to zoom into the view (hold the SHIFT key down and scroll)

This maintenance update primarily focuses on activations and the Softron License Manager. We strongly recommend installing it if you are using serial numbers.

• Softron License Manager: Improved notifications when serial activation is about to expire
• Softron License Manager: Fixed an issue where licenses could become deactivated in rare cases

Important Changes for system requirements and licenses

• New Serial Numbers Activation System. Now using Softron License Manager. WARNING: Internet connection is required to keep serial numbers activated. This only impacts serial numbers, there is no change for dongles. More info...

Release Notes for CG Designer and CG Server

Note: When using CG Designer to create projects for the Dynamic Graphics Overlay option of OnTheAir Video, you will need to use OnTheAir Video 4.5 or later for compatibility of some items.

• CG Designer: Added the ability to use "SuperSource" Items to create nice squeezeback animations in OnTheAir Video. Watch our announces at NAB2025.
• CG Designer: Added the ability to add an "Effects Layer" to apply a blur, colorize, etc...
• CG Designer: Added the ability to add a "QR Code item", which renders a QR code from a text.
• CG Designer: Added the ability to mute Live sources.
• CG Server: REST API: Added the ability to send image as base64 data.
• CG Server: REST API: Added the ability to modify the shape color and stroke of shapes.
• CG Server: REST API: Text Items now return the max number of characters.
• CG Designer: Live and Movie Items now use SMART Resize by default.
• CG Designer: Sound items: Added an icon in the item toolbar to add audio items.
• CG Designer: Sound & Movie items: Enabling "Loop" automatically enables "stay forever". You can disable it afterward to set a specific duration.
• Text slowly moving up when the "Resize Text box with content" option is enabled.
• On reboot with "Reopen windows when logging back in" enabled and auto login, applications could launch in DEMO mode.
• CG Server: REST API: Potential crash when requesting to stop a project.

• Version 3.7.1 (27 June 2025) Activations: Fixed potential hang when refreshing activations if a network is present, but our server can not be reached.
• Version 3.7.2 (25 July 2025) Activations: Activations could be invalidated (and thus require a reactivation) when changing Time zone
